It’s time to pamper your sweetie for Valentine’s Day or any day by making this delectable
Sweet and Healthy Green Smoothie.
Like many women I know, I have been trying hard to get my sweetie to increase his intake
of fruits and vegetables for years.
I will be the first to admit that it has been an uphill battle.
However, one trick that works is making delicious (yet healthy) smoothies that hide the
taste of veggies behind a tasty blend of nutrient-rich ingredients.
This rich, creamy and delectable recipe is great way to show your sweetie some love by
taking good care of him.
Using almond milk and almond butter adds an extra boost and creaminess to the already
protein-rich leafy greens.
Almond butter has more iron, vitamin E, and calcium than peanut butter plus it is rich
in monounsaturated fat and has less saturated fat than peanut butter.
Almond butter also helps keep your hunger pangs at bay due to its high protein and
fiber content.
Banana adds extra sweetness and creaminess while providing potassium which help
his muscles to function well and his blood-pressure to stay regulated.
Also rich in fiber and vitamin B6, bananas provide support for his heart and good carbs
to keep him full and energized.
Now that’s a great way to his heart!
Frozen mangoes add vitamins A and C and a healthy dose of beta-carotene, which helps
prevent cancer and promotes healthy skin.
The wealth of antioxidants, such as anthocyanins, in blueberries have been shown to slow
brain decline and reverse memory loss.
Chia seeds pack a major nutritional punch since they are a great source of heart-healthy
omega-3s and also pack 10g of fiber per 2 tablespoon serving.
Chia seeds may help lower cholesterol and blood pressure.
Cinnamon adds a warm, sweet flavor in your smoothie without adding sugar.
This healthy spice helps regulates blood sugar and also reduces LDL cholesterol.
Dates are loaded with fiber, antioxidants and potassium plus they add extra sweetness.
Blend these super nutritious foods for a power boost that will give your sweetie the fuel
he needs to build strong muscles, burn fat, and boost energy.
Hopefully, he’ll thank you for the love!

My husband was a difficult one when it came to getting veggies in but he would do the shakes without a problem and now he is eating more veggies with dinner. It took about 2 years to get to this point but I’ve very proud of him plus he is down over 60lbs.
Hi Dawn,
I am so glad to hear that your husband drinks smoothies and eats more veggies now. Mine likes a few vegetables and I am the official vegetable cop in our home now.

HI Deborah,
This smoothies sounds tasty.
My love likes smoothies but mostly he eats them a lot more in the summertime for his lunch. He love the bananas, berries, homemade yogurt, and usually hemp or flax seed. I got him chocolate for Valentines Day.
