I am especially excited about this interview because I have personally had the pleasure of benefiting from her wellness services and events. Gravity East is a health and wellness gem in the heart of Manhattan’s East Village. Like many of us on health and wellness journeys, I’ve been grateful for the opportunity to take advantage of their valuable offerings. I’ve personally benefited from colonic hydrotherapy sessions, coffee enemas, infrared sauna sessions and gallbladder/liver flushes — as well as many detox, diet, nutrition and essential oil workshops.
As a highly-experienced wellness provider, Donna’s personal insights and suggestions for a healthy, natural and immunity boosting lifestyle are especially valuable during these challenging times.

Q. Tell us a little about yourself/Gravity East Village
Donna: I am a certified Colon Hydro-therapist offering Gravity Method Colonics since 2005 and a trained Quantum Research Analysis Practitioner offering a muscle testing technique. I am the founder of Gravity East Village, a wellness center located in New York City. I have been living a vegan and primarily raw foods lifestyle since 1989. I hold community events to inspire and educate people to live a healthy life since 1996. I am your detoxification expert! I am also known as: ‘Detox Diva Donna!

Q. How are you protecting your health and boosting your immune system during this COVID 19 health crisis?
Donna: During this time of isolation, there are many people eating comfort foods containing more unhealthy fats, sugars and processed food. This is a time to step up your healthy eating by eating REAL food. I recommend eating a diet that is containing at least 75% raw and living food. Consuming fruits and vegetables, sprouts, nuts / seeds and seaweed would be most ideal and of a great support to your body. The live force, enzymes, fiber, high water content in this food is the best defense your body needs.
Keep the body clean by keeping your food clean. The vast amount of phytonutrients and anti-oxidants found in fruits and vegetables supports the immune system! Superior nutrition is found in whole plant foods.
This is a great time to get the juicer and blender working on those green juices and green smoothies! Start better habits now and you are likely to continue with these good habits once back to work. Take better care of yourself and that can prevent you from getting sick and if you get sick you are more likely to survive if your body has been supported all along! Support your body and it will support you!
I recommend not cooking with oils at all. Add raw oils such as flax / hemp oil over your salad or cooked vegetables as a dressing.
I use Young Living essential oils daily. I use the Thieves product line. Thieves oil blend is a combination oil of clove, cinnamon, lemon, eucalyptus, and rosemary. These essential oils hold properties to protect against harmful microbes. It has been proven to do so. I use Thieves on my hands as a hand sanitizer without the use of chemicals, ingest it and diffuse it. The virus generally enters through the nasal passages or mouth and by using essential oils, that can address the exposure at the introduction into the body.
I use a neti pot often using fine salt with essential oils. The salt and oils will address any unwanted microbes entering the nasal passages.
I gargle with oregano oil daily. I add 1 drop to a glass of water. It is important to use quality essential oils and I trust Young Living. We have a lovely essential oils group and offer free virtual classes online to learn how to use the oils. We ingest, diffuse, and apply them on the body.
On a daily basis, I take zinc, selenium and silver. All are of a great immune support.
I take Premier Research Labs, high quality vitamin and herbal supplements. I offer a muscle testing technique called Quantum Reflex Analysis, where I use a simple o-ring technique and test the acupuncture meridians of the body to determine what nutrition is needed. Daily, I take PRL’s Deltanol (vitamin E), D3 serum, Propolis, Vitamin C and Nucleo Immune. Those who are sick may consider adding Allicidin, NAC, and Reishi Immune. All have therapeutic properties to support the immune system.
Q. What key daily habits do you recommend for optimum health and wellness?
Donna: My ongoing health practices are to eat a high raw food, plant-based diet. I drink green smoothies and vegetable juices everyday. It is my joy to live this way, as it is an act of self-love to honor this temple of a body that has been gifted to me to reside in.

By taking care of your body you experience your divinity and spirituality. I make the connection with every right action taken of love in all that I do.
I have a infrared sauna session weekly. This is an immune booster and rids the body of heavy metals and chemical toxicity. It is a rest and relax experience that can help people who are stressed and support the endocrine system. If you do not have access to visit my center for a sauna session, then an infrared blanket can be the second best thing to use often.
Connecting spiritually is of great importance. I have a spiritual practice of singing yoga mantras as a form of meditation and a yoga asana practice. My spiritual practice helps me to feel calm and connected and is a reminder to me that I am always protected and safe.
To begin, I use a mini trampoline (rebound exercise) daily and then get on my yoga mat. Exercise is a key factor to longevity. Aging with a sharp mind, strong and flexible body is always most desirable. Exercise is key to achieving wellness and strength and should not be overlooked. Normally, I workout at a gym with weights several times a week to build bones.
Periodic cleansing is essential to support the body. I have a colonic session every few weeks to not only clean the colon but to give my immune system a boost and support every organ system in the body. By clearing the colon and emptying the ‘waste basket’ of the body every organ benefits. The immune system will be challenged with a full colon! Unwanted waste products can reside in the colon for years creating a sort of ‘death’ in the body. This obstruction can prevent the body from achieving true wellness.
Many people claim having a bowel movement each morning, but consider the three meals a day plus snacks and wonder if all the waste is truly exiting the body. Ideally, for each meal there should be a bowel movement! That equals three bowel movements a day. The longer the waste lingers in the body the more dehydrated it gets and unlikely to ever leave the body. Colon Hydro-therapy can help the remove the unwanted waste products to support true wellness.
Periodically, I conduct a series of coffee enemas as a liver cleanse. I do them not more then two per sessions per week. At my wellness center, we help people experience a coffee enema session and encourage people to continue on their own to repeat the process. Coffee enemas offer a detoxification of over 700 percent! It can support the production of the master anti-oxidant glutathione that can help decrease free radicals that is a major support to the body and immune system.
Q. What do you eat/drink for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks on a typical day to meet your nutritional needs?
Donna:
Breakfast:
I make a green smoothie each morning that is full of viable protein and is low in sugar and delicious! I am happy to share the recipe by emailing me at gravityeastvillage@gmail.com
It contains a green apple, sprouts, green leafy veggies, cinnamon, green powder, algae, vitamin c, water, goji berries, and any berry you choose. It will keep you satisfied for hours with sustained energy.
Lunch:
For lunch, I consume two smoothies. One is a homemade nut milk smoothie containing a plant-based protein powder that is low in sugar. The other smoothie is a salad blended adding lots of lemon, garlic and a tomato powder to make it taste good.
Mid-Afternoon:
I don’t drink coffee, however, mid afternoon I drink 8 ounces of a homemade kombucha that is a low glycemic drink that is not carbonated. Generally, I drink a vegetable juice in the afternoon as a snack.
Dinner:
My dinner meal is either a salad with avocado and with a flax oil based dressing, or steamed vegetables with a small amount of sweet potato or grain such as millet or quinoa with avocado and dressing. I make a hummus or dressing made with soaked germinated nuts/seeds blended with vegetables to eat it with a salad. What keeps the food interesting is to change the ingredients in the dressing by adding different herbs.
I have a sweet tooth! My work is to keep a sweet indulgence to once or twice a week. The dessert is always vegan and wheat-free. I avoid consuming any flour-based products. I try to eat most of my food in its natural state unprocessed. I do eat a small amount of fruit.
