Like many of us, I love to make and drink healthy, nutritious and delicious nut milks, but
I must confess that I am not very fond of the mess I make when I try to strain my nut milk
using cheesecloth.
When I try to strain my blended nut milk through cheesecloth, I often have a difficult time
and it simply takes me too long.
So I decided to investigate easier, more efficient ways to strain the nut milk pulp.
First of all, I decided to try out two different nut milk bags, to see which one worked
best for me.
Here’s what I found:
My Best Nut Milk Bag
This 2 bag pack contained a large (12″x12″) and medium (12″x9″) strong reusable nut milk bag.
It’s made with commercial food grade fine nylon mesh.
Pro Quality Nut Milk Bag
Big 12″X12″ Commercial Grade – Reusable Almond Milk Bag & All Purpose Strainer
Made of Fine Food Grade Mesh Nylon Cheesecloth
This brand was smartly designed in response to customer requests for a bigger better
quality bag with a wider opening and rounded corners to eliminate waste and messy pouring.
It’s supposed to be the perfect shape and size with more surface area to squeeze!
2 Qt Heavy Glass Milk Bottle with Handle & Cap, 64 Oz
I love this well-designed, durable 2 Qt milk bottle because I can store a lot of nut milk in it.
Refillable glass milk bottles like these take us back to a time when life was simpler.
It brings back memories of the kind of bottles that the milk man would drop off your bottles
at the door so you would have fresh milk for breakfast.
Epica 18-Oz. Glass Beverage Bottles, Set of 6
I grabbed this set of eco-friendly glass beverage bottles–perfect personal bottles for my
fresh nut milks.
I like the fact that they have stainless steel caps with an O-ring for water-tight seal and
a wider mouth for easy filling and cleaning.
OXO Good Grips Water Bottle Cleaning Set
I am always concerned about keeping my bottles and stainless steel straws clean, so this
nifty water bottle cleaning set really comes in handy.
The set includes long bottle brush, straw brush and detail cleaner.
The long bottle brush is perfect for cleaning the inside of bottles with narrow necks
Short, firm bristles on brush tip thoroughly clean bottom of bottles and soft side bristles clean
bottle walls without scratching.
The long straw brush is great for getting inside sports bottle straws
The detail cleaner is ideal for getting into crevices in caps, cleaning screw threads and locations
where a large brush cannot reach.

Hi Jen,
It is such a pleasure to work with you! Blogger inspiration!!
I haven’t made homemade nut milk in forever – you’ve inspired me to do it again Deborah!
Hi Mary Ellen,
I am so delighted that you feel inspired to make nut milk again. The key for me is making the process easier and more efficient! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it.
Glad you posted this! I find making almond milk such a pain… so I don’t normally do it. I definitely could use some better straining bags with a wider opening for my blender. I quite like the nut milk bottle too! So much snazzier than my old jars ;p
I honestly normally just make my own hemp milk as there is no soaking or straining required – blend and go!
I haven’t seen the brand Terrasoul, but I love nuts – I’ll keep my eye out for them.
