Like many of you, I am a big fan of ginger, so this delightful, pungent root is the star ingredient in
my groovy green ginger berry smoothie.
Among its many health benefits, ginger contains a substance called 6-gingerol, which may have
protective effects against cancer.
In addition, ginger is loaded with nutrients and bio-active compounds that have powerful benefits
for your body and brain.
Ginger has been used for centuries to aid digestion, reduce nausea and inflammation, and to help
fight the flu and common cold.
I also love to try new vegan shake recipes, so when I saw these 10 healthy and tasty vegan and
vegetarian smoothies below, I just had to share them with you.
Let’s shake things up in the kitchen with these healthy and delicious shake and smoothie recipes.

Many of us are in a rush each morning so we skip breakfast.
Big mistake!
Skipping breakfast has been time and again linked to harmful side effects such as weight gain,
high blood pressure, slumps in energy levels, and so on.
Though some people cut breakfast out of their morning routine as part of their weight-management
program, studies have shown that people who do so are more likely to eat calorie-rich food during the
day than people who start their day with a healthy meal.
If it is a lack of time that is preventing you from putting together a healthy breakfast every morning,
here are 10 easy and delicious smoothie recipes to change your mind.

Skip breakfast?! Unpossible ;p I have heard of people not wanting to eat breakfast, I just can’t imagine it. It fuels my morning and sets the tone for the day. And your Groovy Green smoothie sounds like a perfect way to start the day. Honestly, I’m not an arugula fan, but this looks like a way to sneak it in without tasting it too much. So many berries and I love ginger. It sounds super delicious. And I love the huge smoothie chart!!
Thank you so much for sharing this at Healthy Vegan Fridays – I really appreciate your continued support. I’m pinning & sharing. Thanks Deborah =)

Green is GROOVY and oh-so-healthy!
I’ve been drinking more and more smoothies recently so this post is perfect for me! All the smoothies sound great but I particularly like your Groovy Green Ginger Berry Smoothie! Thank you for sharing this post with us at the Hearth and Soul Hop. Hope to see you again this week!
That’s awesome, April. What is your favorite smoothie combo?
I think there are too many fruits in this smoothie for the ratio of greens. Too much fruit sugars especially in the morning can set the body for cravings later. A better rule is to include just enough fruits to make the greens palatable.
