Many people are concerned about improving their health.
Exercise plays a huge part in staying in shape and diet is massively important too.
Rather than eating whole foods, people elect to juice their way to health.
However, like starting a new exercise regimen, those who are beginner juicers are prone
to make mistakes.
Here are top tips to avoid making mistakes.
Take Your Time
You don’t want to turn yourself off of juicing.
So, you’ll want to couple the vegetables with more agreeable flavors.
For example, couple leafy greens with sweet flavors derived from apples and cherries.
Juicing greens requires some getting used to, so gradually add more greens to make the
juice healthier.
Don’t Always Blend
The term juicing can be misleading.
While most ingredients are blended, some ingredients are more healthier when inserted
straight into the end product.
For example, rather than blend pieces of lemon, squeeze the juice straight into the blended
concoction once finished.
Some people also add fresh herbs to the end product to enhance the natural flavors.
Think Outside of the Box
There are no rules to juicing.
Be creative and think outside of the box when considering ingredients.
Successful juicing requires mixing different flavors and textures.
For example, sweet potatoes make for a delicious ingredient as well as root vegetables,
which some may not initially think about adding.
Also, some ingredients may not ‘make sense’ on a plate yet work well in a juice.
Be Prepared
Juicing is not as simple as tossing ingredients into the blender.
The consistency of the juice and the flavor is influenced by the level of prepping.
Moreover, keeping particular peels on or not cutting and dicing may affect the function
of the juicing machine.
You may benefit from thoroughly reading the instructions of your particular machine
to ensure proper use and maintenance.
Don’t Wait
One of the benefits of juicing is getting the immediate nutrients from the ingredients.
So, you don’t want to juice and leave the concoction sitting out for a long time.
Drink the concoction immediately after blending to get the best effects from the ingredients.
If you must save the drink, seal it up in an airtight container and maintain in a refrigerator,
yet consume within a day’s time or you will lose a lot of the benefits.
Do Research
To save time and get better acquainted with healthy ingredients, research online about particular
recipes and what ingredients are most beneficial.
Also, pay attention to the source of the information; some personalities may be self-appointed
experts rather than have experience working in the nutrition field or really knowing what ingredients
are the most healthy.
Thoroughly Wash Equipment
Ironically, blenders filled with healthy ingredients can make you sick if you don’t wash the equipment
after use.
Unwashed equipment can become contaminated.
There is a prepping period involved as well as a post-juicing process, which requires carefully
maintaining unused portions as well as washing all equipment.
Don’t Overuse Fruit
When people initially think of ‘juice,’ fruit comes to mind.
However, when it comes to the benefits of juicing, it’s much better to use more veggies than fruits.
For best results, use as many veggies as your palate can tolerate.
It may require a graduation of adding more veggies as well as mixing in a bit of fruit to make the
concoction tasty.
Don’t Get Lazy
While it’s great to be juicing, you don’t want to get lazy when it comes to ingredients.
Sure, identifying what ingredients work makes it easy to navigate the grocery store and prepare
the juice, but it’s better to mix things up to achieve a healthy diet.
Rotate the ingredients you use so you’re getting a medley of nutrients into your diet.
Read Multiple Reviews and Ask Around
It’s tempting to make a quick decision when you know it’s a healthy one.
For example, there is no doubt that juicing is a good decision yet you don’t want to head to the
store and purchase the first juicer you see.
Selecting a good machine requires research and inquiry.
To start, read online reviews from several health-related sites.
For example, read about the Omega J8006 nutrition center juicer.
Secondly, ask friends or trainers about their experiences with particular brands and models.
Know About Juicing and Blending
There is a difference between juicing and blending, yet they are complementary to each other.
It’s great to juice vegetables and blending is convenient for soft fruits.
Doing both provides you with more options.
For example, you can juice garlic and ginseng.

I make smoothies a lot at home and like the fiber intake with them and get fresh juices out as I don’t have a juicer right now. But, thinking it would be a wise item to have as it can be so beneficial as well. Sharing!
Great article on juicing. I hadn’t really thought of much of a difference between blending and juicing.
Thanks so much for sharing this at Healthy Vegan Fridays Deborah – I hope you are having a great week!

I know nothing about juicing so this was a great overview. Thanks for linking up with Funtastic Friday.
Great tips! Thanks so much for sharing 🙂 Pinned!
Great article. Years ago I did intensive ( 6 juices a day) vegetable juicing for 6 months and recovered from chronic fatigue. I carried on making juices twice a day for many years until about 12 years ago when a Naturopathic doctor introduced me to smoothies as part of a detox I did for a melanoma. I bought a Vitamix and have made smoothies ever since. I still have my juicer but the thought of cleaning it puts me off. A blender is so much easier to clean!
I know what you mean about cleaning the juicer! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I appreciate it. All the best to you!
