Raw, homemade cashew milk is a versatile and nutritious base for lots of
delicious drinks and delicious.
Once you have made a quart of of fresh cashew milk the sky is the limit.
You can create all kinds of delicious smoothies by choosing from a variety of
fresh fruits and spices.
One of my favorite drinks is this Strawberry Banana Cashew Milk Smoothie.
Whether you’re talking about strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or other types
of berries, they’re all packed with antioxidants.
These antioxidants help fight disease and boost your immune system.
Cashews are also a good source of antioxidants.
Alkyl phenols, in particular, are abundant in cashews.
Cashews provide dietary trace minerals copper, manganese, magnesium and phosphorus.
Plus, the unsaturated fatty acids found in cashews are heart-healthy and help lower your
risk of heart disease and stroke.
High in B vitamins and potassium, bananas give our smoothies a rich, creamy texture.
Plus, ripe bananas are extremely sweet and pair well with most ingredients.
This combination makes a great breakfast smoothie, but you can enjoy it anytime.
Best of all, it’s fast and easy to whip up in minutes.
Strawberry Banana Cashew Milk Smoothie
Ingredients
2 cups homemade Cashew Milk or start from scratch and make a new batch of
1 cup frozen Organic Strawberries
2 frozen Organic Bananas
3-5 soaked Organic Dates (optional for extra sweetness)
1/2 tsp of cinnamon or nutmeg
Directions
If you are have already made basic cashew milk, simply add the ingredients above to
your Vitamix or other high-speed blender.
And voila! your smoothie is ready to drink.
*If you are making cashew milk from scratch, then combine soaked cashews
and filtered water in the blender.
Blend thoroughly until smooth.
Add soaked dates and vanilla then blend again to combine.
Blend dates with cashew liquid until it’s completely pulverized.
I enjoy my cashew milk thick and creamy,so I don’t strain my cashew milk, however, if you wish
to have a thinner milk, strain your cashew milk through a fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth or nut bag.
Pour the strained milk back into the blender.
Add bananas, strawberries and spices to the cashew milk in the blender.
Blend thoroughly until smooth.
Taste test your smoothie and adjust to meet your preferences by adding more water for a
thinner consistency or adding a few more soaked dates for more sweetness.
Once you are satisfied with the taste of your smoothie, you can drink a glass immediately.
Pour the balance into a covered mason jar and refrigerator for later.
It is best to drink this smoothie within the same day.
Enjoy!
