Are you feeling jealous of Rapunzel of late?
And regretting that decision of yours which made you chop off your long hair because you thought
you didn’t want it anymore?
Well, we all have been there and done that.
When we were kids, our mom’s took amazing care of our hair, oiled them, and plaited them
and what not.
And when we grew up, we cut them.
We do everything in our control to spoil our hair beyond repair and then regret every decision
we ever made.
But, worry no more; we are here to your rescue.
Getting back to the healthy long mane that you once had is no way a cake walk.
But if you are willing to put in a little extra effort, than the destination is not too far.
All you have to do is follow certain do’s and don’t’s and a healthy regime paired with a few
surprising home remedies to control hair fall and speed up the hair growth process and you
will be all set.
So let’s begin.
Things You Should Avoid
*Excessive Styling
Although it looks amazing, styling your hair now and then can cause it severe damage.
Use of certain chemicals and conditioners to style the hair can turn into a cause of excessive hair fall,
breakage and thinning.
Styling once in awhile and in isolation is fine, but too much of anything is not okay.
*Maintain a gap between coloring, bleaching, straightening, blow drying or curling the hair
Excess heating is disastrous for your hair.
Use of blow dryer, straightener or curling irons can scorch the strands of hair and make them extremely
brittle.
*Combing wet hair and without a leave-in conditioner
Hair is most vulnerable when they are wet.
So wait till they are dry and then use a wide toothed comb to comb your hair.
And never pull or detangle them without the utilization of a detangling spray or conditioner.
*Avoid unnecessary stress by reducing such hairdos
Tying your hair too tight or trying hairstyles that provide unnecessary stress to the scalp and strands
can curb the hair growth.
Things To Do
*Eat healthy
You all must be wondering what eating has to do with your hair growth?
Well, everything.
Our hair is made up of proteins, so it is critical to provide enough protein to the body to naturally promote
the hair growth.
Green leafy vegetables, fruits, legumes, soybeans, nuts, seeds — and lean proteins like chicken, fish, eggs,
if you are not vegan.
*Enough iron and zinc
Along with all the vitamins and proteins, it is important to supply your body with enough iron and zinc.
Iron is responsible for providing your hair follicles with oxygen and zinc makes sure that the oil glands
around the hair follicles are working properly.
*Enough Vitamin C
Brittle, weak and dull looking hair might be a cause of vitamin C deficiency.
Collagen and iron are both building blocks of hair, and these both require vitamin C to build and break
down respectively.
And our body is not designed to make vitamin C on its own, so it is important that you provide it
with enough vitamin c.
*Cut your hair
No, I’m not talking about chopping them off completely.
However, it is important you trim your hair every 8 to 10 weeks, to avoid breakage from the tips
because of slip ends.
It is a myth that cutting hair now and then promotes hair growth, but trimming helps in a healthier
hair growth.
*Cleaning
If you have oily scalp and hair, it is recommended you wash your hair 3 to 4 times a week as a
clean scalp will promote hair growth and a clogged one will restrict it.
But if you have dry and frizzy hair, hair wash is recommended 2 to 3 times a week because regular
hair wash strips the hair of its natural oils.
*Massage to stimulate the blood circulation
Like any other body part, even our scalp has thousands of nerve endings, and it is important
to stimulate these endings to promote proper blood circulation and blood flow.
Natural Remedies
The above-mentioned measure will clear your way to healthy, long and beautiful locks, but there
are few other things that you have to do it improve the hair growth and fasten the hair growth.
While chemical laden cosmetics might not always be good for because you never know what will
work for you and what will mess it all up, it is always better to go natural.
Your kitchen is full of ingredients that promote hair growth to a significant level, and also give
you shiny hair in a cheaper, time-tested way that works.
So here are a few fantastic hair growth remedies that will do wonders for your hair.
*Oil Massage
As I already told you, massaging is a crucial step.
It promotes blood circulation to the hair follicles and increases your chances of better hair growth.
But, it is important that you take care of what you put on your scalp.
Not everything and anything works.
Oils like coconut oil, castor oil, olive oil, almond oil are very well known to be good for hair
and encourage growth.
You can use a concoction of all these oils or any one of these oils.
Heat the desired quantity of it and apply it to the scalp and massage.
Wash after an hour.
*Egg Whites
Eggs have been long known to tackle hair problems.
Eggs are an excellent source of protein and other nutrients, which your hair require in a
massive quantity.
Eggs contain many minerals which are good for hair.
For this remedy, take the whites of two eggs, and mix a teaspoon each of olive oil and honey.
Stir this mixture well and apply it on your scalp.
Wash it after 20 minutes and follow the regular shampoo routine.
*Indian Gooseberry (Amla)
You sure must have heard of amla oils and shampoos that swear on giving you the beat hair.
Well, they are not wrong.
Amlas have been popular for their amazing quality of improving the condition of your hair, and
they are loaded with vitamin C and antioxidants.
For this remedy, mix two teaspoons each of amla juice and lime juice.
Apply this on the scalp and let it rest for 20 minutes or till when it dries.
Once dried, wash off with warm water and pat dry.
