Skin care is one of the beauty and lifestyle trends that all bloggers stress the importance of. Well, they are onto something! Good skin care isn’t only useful for looking great today, it is important for maintaining healthy and soft skin as we age. While it may often become an afterthought, it’s important to integrate a daily skin care routine to ensure ageless, flawless skin that is pimple-free, wrinkle-free and smooth.
Here are some tips for everyone looking to step up their skin care routine.
Wash your face
It seems simple, right? Well, you might be doing some things wrong. The thing about washing your face is that it is best when you have a washcloth so that you can fully scrub and release toxins and dirt. This is especially true if you wear a lot of makeup, or any makeup at all. Wash your face in the morning and before bed. Once you get used to this habit, it will feel essential to maintain the habit. You may notice if you wash without a washcloth, your makeup still is wiping off on your towels when drying. This means you didn’t scrub your face enough, which is easiest when you have a washcloth in hand.
Also, never fall asleep with makeup on — even if the least you do before bed is wash your face. Falling asleep without washing your face means all the sweat, dirt and makeup from the day are resting on your face for 8 or so more hours! The skin needs to breathe at night and it won’t be able to do so with a full face of makeup. Nobody is perfect and it sometimes we fall asleep with makeup on, but it is important to try to give your face a break while you rest.
Use oils for increased glow
Putting oils on your face seems counterintuitive. After all, an oily face causes acne, right? However, adding moisturizer and oils to your face can significantly increase the softness and glow of your skin. Using a product like Bio-Oil or pure rose oil can make your skin glowing and youthful even after a late night or a health slump. Face oils return elasticity and moisture to the face. It might feel weird putting more oils on your face, but it might be the hydration you didn’t know you were missing. Often, people start applying oils and immediately feel their skin soften. Once you try this skin hack, you won’t look back.
Mind what you eat
This is said over and over in health blogs everywhere, but it is true. You will feel the weight of the food you eat in many aspects of your health. Your face is one of the most sensitive areas on your body, especially when it comes to diet. One of the best things to do for amazing skin is to drink water — and lots of it. It is even recommended to drink more than the recommended 64 ounces a day. For flawless skin, drink more than that. It is an easy hack that will benefit the rest of your body as well.
A diet full of fruits and veggies also will benefit those looking for clearer skin. Fresh greens are great for the skin, along with foods high in vitamin A and C. It is best to avoid spicy foods and fermented foods.
Take these tips into consideration if you want to have naturally healthy glow to your face. Skin care is worth the trouble.
