Lymphedema can be quite uncomfortable and hard to manage at times.
Many doctors prescribe medications as well as different ways to manage it, however they do not
help in reducing the lymphedema effects.
Below are five natural ways to combat lymphedema and relieve the symptoms.
1. Healthy Diet
A healthy diet contributes to overall health, but it also helps to reduce risks and symptoms
of various diseases and ailments, including lymphedema.
There are different types of food that you should avoid, including:
• Processed foods
• Acidic foods
• White flours
• Artificial and extra sugars
Replace these unhealthy options with those that are filled with the vitamins, minerals and
nutrients that your body needs, such as nuts, vegetables and free range meats.
For those who struggle with eating vegetables regularly, juicing is a fun and delicious option to try.
2. Drinking Water
Drinking water is an excellent natural way to help support blood circulation.
The key is to ensure that the water is purified and of good quality.
You may choose to simply purchase bottled water, or you may invest in a water filter.
In fact, there are certain purifiers that add minerals to your water to enhance its healthy effects.
For a touch of flavor you may experiment with different garnishes, such as lemon, mint or cucumber.
3. Exercise
Exercise is an excellent way to support your lymphatic system and keep the lymphatic fluid moving
in your body.
You should exercise your entire body, but also focus in on the area where your lyphedema issues lie.
For example, those with the condition in their legs could benefit from daily walks or jumping on
a trampoline.
4. Epsom Salt Baths
Epsom salt baths are not only great for relaxing muscles, but they are also known for removing
toxins from the body.
This makes them a great option for soothing your swollen ligaments and reducing the inflammation.
If you would like, you can add different ingredients to further enhance the experience, such as
lavender oil which promotes relaxation.
5. Circulation Remedies
There are other natural remedies that you can take that support circulation in the body.
For instance, a mixture of essential oils or a cup of essiac tea can be used to promote
circulation in the body.
Through a little research you can find a method that works best for you.
You should not have to suffer with painful lymphedema symptoms with no hope.
The aforementioned options are just a few of the natural ways that you can soothe your
aching ligaments.

I don’t know anyone with lymphedema, but these are great tips for anyone who wants to be healthier. Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday.
Great tips in general for staying healthy! Thanks for sharing this on Waste Not Want Not Wednesday, Deborah, I’ve pinned it 🙂
Dear Deborah, Thankfully I don’t have this health condition, but will pass it along to someone I know who does. I must admit I rarely take baths, preferring showers instead. This got me thinking to add them as a treat for my body, mind, and spirit. I think it’s such a great article I shared it on FB and will pin it too. arm regards, Nancy Andres, Health & Lifestyle Writer, Author of “Colors of Joy: A Woman’s Guide for Self-Discovery, Balance, and Bliss,” Blogger at http://obloggernewbie.blogspot.com and http://www.nancyandreswriter.com/colors-of-joy-blog/
