Fashion, lifestyle, and stereotypes often go hand in hand. While you shouldn’t judge a book by their cover, everyone does. A person who lives a vegan or eco-friendly lifestyle, for example, is often coined as having a hippie-styled fashion sense. Now, if you were to google the word “hippie” you’d be greeted with pictures of messy, unkempt hair and bright, baggy clothing.
The question is – does your fashion sense have to be sacrificed by your lifestyle choices? The answer: of course not. The key is knowing how to look great regardless of what lifestyle you live. Whether you are someone who prefers vegan-friendly fashion choices or just someone who wants to be more eco-friendly, the following steps can help anyone look great.
“If you take care of yourself and
follow these steps, you should be
able to look great regardless of
what lifestyle you prefer.”
Step One: Invest in Slips
It is a common misconception that slips are a fashion accessory preferred by older individuals. There, however, are a lot of benefits to wearing slips. Learning more about some of these benefits can certainly make deciding whether you should add slips to your wardrobe a little easier.
No Sticking: One of the biggest complaints associated with wearing a dress or skirt is sticking to hosiery or getting bunched up between your legs. Shapewear slips are designed to provide a necessary barrier to keep this from happening.
Keeps Clothing Clean: For dry-clean or hand-wash only clothing, slips can be a real savior. Your slip will provide a barrier between your body and your clothing. Body perspiration will be left on the slip instead of that dry-clean only skirt you love so much.
Step Two: Make Time for Daily Hygiene
Always looking great isn’t just about what you wear. It is also about how you take care of yourself. There are several different hygiene steps you should take on a daily basis.
Wash Your Face: In addition to your daily shower, you should wash your face once in the morning and once before you go to bed. The morning wash will get any grime or sweat accumulated while sleeping off your face and the evening wash will remove any make-up, moisturizer, or grime you accumulated during the day.
Brush Your Teeth: To make your routine a little easier, consider brushing your teeth before your morning and evening face washing sessions. Ideally, you should also floss your teeth during the evening brush.
Shower: While washing your hair every day isn’t necessary, you need to step into the shower and let the warm and soapy water rinse away the sweat and bacteria you accumulate every day.
Taking care of your nails and removing any unwanted body hair are additional steps a person can take. These, however, can be part of a weekly routine instead of a daily routine.
Step Three: Get Plenty of Sleep
Again, looking great is about more than the clothing you put on every morning. Perfect daily hygiene, a flattering outfit, and a beneficial slip will only get you so far if your face looks like you haven’t slept in a week.
Step Four: Wear Flattering Clothing
Never limit yourself to current fashion trends as they aren’t going to be flattering for everyone. Figure out what colors bring out your eyes and flatter your face. Choose articles of clothing that complement your best assets. For example, if you have luscious legs, don’t wear clothing that hides them. While this step requires a bit of trial and error, you should be able to fill your wardrobe with outfits that flatter you and your body.
As you can see, always looking great requires a combination of different things. You must find a balance between what you wear and how you wear it. If you take care of yourself and follow these steps, you should be able to look great regardless of what lifestyle you prefer.
