Spain returns to welcome tourists from all over the world: from June, with the vaccine passport. Fernando Valdés announced it to the World Travel and Tourism Council in Cancun, adding that all passes capable of certifying vaccination, healing, and negativity to the molecular swab will be valid.
This is great news for those who are already missing the golden Spanish coast and would like to get away for days full of relaxation. It is also a great opportunity for those seeking to improve their Spanish as much as enjoying a unique experience in a city.
The news on reopening the borders
The Spanish Secretary of State for Tourism, Fernando Valdés, has specified that starting from June, Spain will accept tourists from abroad who will have a certification attesting to the vaccination against Coronavirus, recovery from Covid-19 or negativity to a tampon. In other words, tourists who are in possession of a vaccination passport will be able to enter the country. In short, all those in possession of any vaccination passport will be able to enter the country without quarantine.
In May, Spain will take part in a European digital certification pilot program and will then be “ready to receive visitors from June”. Valdés also called “excellent news” the announcement made by the president of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Layen, about possible plans to allow fully vaccinated Americans to enter Europe.
About 12% of the Spanish GDP depends on tourism and the reopening of the borders is a crucial point for relaunching the national economy. To date, all Europeans can already enter Spain, and UK visitors are to be reevaluated in the following weeks.
