A good traveling experience can be ruined by poor packing. After you are done with renewing My Passport Services and you are ready to take that trip you have planned for long, you should be extra cautious about the items that find their way into your travel bags. If you are like most people, you will be gone for just a short while, but even if you were going away for a long time, not knowing what to keep in the bag will still work against you.  
To begin with, packing lots of stuff will mean that your bag will be heavier, and depending on the luggage restrictions of your airline, you may end paying to fly some things you won’t use where you are going. With that said, here are some of the items you should never pack when traveling:
 

Books and magazines

This is not to suggest that you should not enjoy your best reads while on vacation or to kill time during long flights. However, thanks to technology, you now have the versatility of freeing some space that would have been occupied by the books by simply having soft copies of such books or alternatively have them on Kindle. As such, you even get the capacity to carry more reading materials.

A different outfit for each day

If you were to pack a different outfit for every day you will be away, then know that this is the fastest way to run out of packing space in your bag and in most cases, you will never wear everything you are dumping in that bag. Unless you are going for a very long trip, then consider carrying four tops and four bottoms, of varying colors and varying matches as you shall see fit. In case you have used all your clothes and you have no clean ones to wear, simply call for laundry services, which will be pretty cheap since you don’t have a lot of clothes. Besides, this will give you room to buy more clothes in the places you will be traveling to and you will still have a lot of room in your bags to carry them.

Too many denims in your bags

Denims are great, very comfortable and highly versatile and they are also very good at hiding stains, but why would you need twenty of them for one trip? Know that they are very heavy and will take a lot of space, however, must you try to fold them in style. Therefore, just pack a few of your favorite pair of jeans and a pair or two of cotton linen pants, khakis, performance fabrics or leggings.
 

Toiletries

It is appalling to see some people carry bags full of toiletries when going for trips, yet these are the same things they will find in the hotels they will be using. Even if you don’t plan on getting your accommodation in a hotel, there is no need to take a flight with a bag full of toiletries. Instead, use the space to carry other things or simply let it go empty instead of adding unnecessary weight to the bag. Whichever place you travel to, there will always be places where you can get your toiletry supplies and so you don’t have to carry them with you.

Your makeup bag

There are higher chances that you don’t usually use the items in your makeup bag every day, and if that is the case, why would you go through the trouble of carrying the entire bag full of lots of stuff you won’t be using? Depending on where you are going and what you will be doing, your needs for makeup may vary a lot. Consequently, choose wisely what to carry for your trip as makeup, so that you travel light and more efficiently.
 

Hair styling tools and products

In addition, to carrying full makeup bags, there are some people who will always carry their hair styling tools and products. This is not to say that your hair should not look great as you travel, but hotels nowadays have hair dryers in the rooms and in some, you will also find hair straighteners. It could be a good idea to confirm their availability at the hotels before you leave so that you can decide on whether or not to carry them along.

More than two devices

Unless your traveling is purely for business purposes, there is no need for you to carry your phone, tablet, kindle, and laptop. If you have to carry more than one device, then don’t carry more than two. Traveling with many gadgets may deny you the chance to have a great vacation. This is because you will be distracted most of the times with the gadgets, or you may end up not using everything you had packed. Besides, losing gadgets during trips is very easy and the less you carry, the slimmer the chances of losing them.
 

Carrying food

It is not a crime to carry some snacks to the plane, but it would be pointless to stuff your luggage with a lot of food. If you desire to save money by not buying a lot of food during the trip, then there are a few smart ways you can do that. For example, you can purchase a few staples like milk, cereals, and coffee upon arrival in your destination. But don’t let your desire to save some money deny you the chance to sample some of the local cuisines available in your host country.

Sheets and towels

The rule is that if you are not going camping, then you don’t need the sheets and towels. Whichever place you book for accommodation will have them in plenty, and if you don’t like the ones you get for any reason, you can always ask for a clean fresh set, and still, if you don’t like that, you are always free to change where you stay. Sheets and towels are unnecessarily bulky and may make you pay more for luggage with the airline.
