Even those of us who move in the most conservative circles know a stoner or two. In years gone by when they had to keep their hobby quiet, the idea of buying them a weed-related gift on a special occasion would have sounded like some sort of joke. Today, however, it’s a different story. If you live in Canada or one of the growing number of US states where weed is legal, then this kind of gift is no more outrageous than buying someone a bottle of wine, or perhaps a beer tankard. 

Choose your gift with care 

Actually buying somebody a gram of weed as a gift is not recommended unless you really know what you are doing – it’s a very personal decision, and there are so many different strains out there, you’d probably end up making the wrong choice. But legalization has opened up a whole new market and there are all sorts of fun options out there in terms of gadgets, accessories and paraphernalia. Here are three ideas that are well worth considering and are a whole lot better than a t-shirt with a corny slogan. 

A sophisticated lighter 

These days, most people opt for those cheap disposable plastic lighters.  If you’re not an expert on weed, you’ve probably heard of a grinder but are not entirely sure why it is needed. In essence, it’s important to grind cannabis to a certain consistency so that it burns evenly and provides the optimum hit. A grinder is, therefore, an important accessory – yet it is one that many smokers try to manage without, instead improvising with all sorts of unlikely household objects and kitchen utensils. There’s a great range of weed grinder gift options available either from weed dispensaries or to buy online. Best of all, there’s something to suit every budget, and as is the case with the lighter, you can never have too many, so it doesn’t matter if the recipient already has one.  

The ultimate bling 

The first two suggestions give you the opportunity to blend style and practicality. Finally, here’s something completely outrageous with which any stoner can channel his – or, indeed her – inner Floyd Mayweather. Pure gold rolling papers can be used to create a joint that will surely be fit for smoking in any company. They are made from the same type of edible gold you see celebrity chefs using on TV and are, according to the manufacturers, no more harmful than standard papers.
