Natural and organic beauty is a big trend – and a healthy way to look gorgeous during the holiday
season or any time of the year.
Here is how to use organic make-up products for maximum effect:
Keep the Cold at Bay with Warm Tones
It’s a misconception that organic, eco-friendly makeup only offers you a nude makeup palette with
which to experiment.
You can find many bold colours that make use of natural pigments to create their shades.
For fall and winter, choose earth tones with a bit of shimmer to add an illuminating effect.
You want to be inspired by the fall colours outside, such as rich mauve (which looks gorgeous on eyes),
bronze and gold, to create a warm and trendy look.
Avoid wearing shimmer if your eyes are very dry as this can irritate them.
You should also be careful about shimmer or glitter products if you wear contact lenses as these sharp
particles can get caught between the eyeball and lens, causing corneal scratches and infections.
Choose matte colours that are organic and colourful instead of glitter, and focus on extra accentuation,
such as in the form of winged eyeliner.
Seal in the Moisture
Winter can dry out your skin, leaving it irritated and dull.
You want to add a more luxuriously creamy face moisturizer to your beauty routine and
choose nourishing makeup products that will give your skin moisture even when your
moisturizer isn’t nearby.
Examples of nourishing ingredients to look for include Vitamin E and chamomile to soothe it
and make it glow.
Flaunt the New Smoky Eye
Smoky eyes are beauty staples, just like red lipstick.
This year, they take on a new spin by being created with gorgeous colours, such as purple, dark blue,
greys and even pastels.
If you’re using lighter colours in your smoky eye, be sure to define your lashes with mascara and
use a darker shade of eyeliner so that the colours don’t look too pale.
Put Your Lips on Display
If your lips are your best feature, choose to highlight them this festive season and keep your eyes neutral.
Bold lip colours are a big trend this winter, with cherry red shades and rich berries coming out to play.
If you love the deep colours but don’t want anything too dramatic, choose a lip stain or lip tint instead
that will give you a nice dash of richness without being high maintenance.
Get Misted!
A beauty mist is a must-have when heading to all the holiday parties.
A spritz of it will invigorate your skin and make you look like you’ve just stepped out of a luxurious spa.
Try an organic one that works double-duty while you let your hair down, softening your skin and hair so
you look fresh.
Be a Natural Beauty
Looking good throughout the holiday season doesn’t mean you need lots of beauty products.
In fact, just by doing a few important things you can wear minimal makeup and look stunning at all the
glamorous ’dos.
● Follow the Eyebrow Trend
You don’t have to fuss too much with your eyebrows this season as less is more.
Make sure that your eyebrows are perfectly plucked so that they can enhance your facial features.
If you need to fill them in with pencil, do so minimally – just a dab of feathery strokes here or there
is enough.
You don’t want them to look too overpowering.
You’ll be surprised how manicured brows can make your face look younger and brighter.
● Keep it Light
Luminous skin can be achieved with beauty products, such as a dab of highlighter here or there,
but real radiance comes from skin that is looked after well.
Besides cleansing, toning and moisturizing twice a day, you should be exfoliating your skin with
natural scrubs at least once every week.
This is essential to prevent the accumulation of dead skin cells on the surface, which can give you
a dry or dull complexion.
You might not think of exfoliating in winter, but it’s just as important to replenish your skin so that
it can glow naturally.
You can make your own DIY natural scrubs with ingredients from your kitchen, such as bananas
and sugar.
Always finish off a session with a creamy moisturizer to seal in that moisture.
Natural beauty products can give you gorgeous makeup looks this season, helping you achieve
effortless radiance.
With the right products and tips, you’ll glow throughout the festive season or anytime of the year.
