I have come to the realization that I am just not a morning person, however, the
show must go on.
There’s lots of work to be done and a full day ahead to steam through.
I stopped relying on coffee to perk me up years ago–thank goodness!
Now green tea is my caffeine source of choice.
But whenever I need to add some extra pep to my step in the morning, I know just
what to do.
I head to my kitchen to whip a nutrient-packed, superfood smoothie!
I drink a large glass right away and carry the balance in my thermos to fuel
me later.
Today I gathered the remains of my last shopping trip to come up with
this healthy, delicious, creamy, fruity smoothie.
I was so happy to still have some organic nectarines and strawberries left from
my trip to the local farmer’s market.
Plus I added avocado for some healthy fats and extra creaminess!
Banana Nectarine Avocado Superfood Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 organic banana
1 organic nectarine
8 organic strawberries
1 organic apple
1/2 organic avocado
1/2 tspn organic cinammon
2 tbspns flax seed meal
2 tbspns hemp seeds
1 cup filtered water
Directions:
Wash fruit and add ingredients to your high speed blender ( I use a VitaMix.)
Blend until smooth.
Add additional water if you prefer a thinner consistency.
Sometimes I’ll add coconut water, coconut milk or almond milk instead
of water.
You choose.
Pour your smoothie into a mason jar or large glass.
Drink up!
This is just the thing to get your juices flowing and keep you energized!
Enjoy!

That looks really good. I haven’t liked avocado in smoothies (although I love avocados), but this looks like a good flavor combination.
Yum! What a delicious healthy breakfast with all those fruits, and lots of protein. I think the coconut water or milk would be a great choice. Thanks for sharing on Real Food Fridays. Pin & Twitted.

This sounds SO MUCH better than coffee!! But to be fair, I don’t like coffee… and I happen to be one of those fortunate souls that loves waking up in the morning =) This would make my morning even better!
