For me, green smoothies are so healthy, energizing and delicious, that giving or receiving a smoothie
is a truly an act of love.
I mean, what better way to show someone you care!
On several occasions, I have gifted friends and family members with a gaily-wrapped mason jar
full of smoothie goodness along with a little note and a recipe card– and they loved it!
I have also given green smoothies as hostess gifts–in lieu of wine.
Drink to your health, literally!
Like many of us, I have carried a green smoothie in a thermos to work, meetings or special events
to make sure I had the fuel I needed to get through the day.
Now that’s self-love!
This morning, I foraged through my kitchen to find some organic goodies for a nutritious smoothie.
I found some fresh pineapple, an orange, a banana, some strawberries and spinach.
Plus, I added some healthy superfoods to boost the nutritional punch– including flax seed powder,
chia seeds, organic peanut butter, organic greens powder and some vegan protein powder.
The addition of coconut milk elevated this drink to the “colada” level
This recipe makes enough for 2 full mason jars of healthy smoothie goodness.
I drank one for lunch.
I saved the other one for a post-workout pick me up.

Yes, this smoothie love concept was really fun! I really do give people I love smoothies! Do you?
Hi Deborah,
This looks delicious. I’m new to the healthfood realm. I’m feeling so much better with my improved eating lifestyle. When I blend my chia seeds my smoothie can get kind of slimy. Any advice on this?

I had my first green smoothie in February, I didn’t like it, maybe because it was kale smoothie. I would have to try it again but with spinach. I think I prefer to eat my greens even kale. #wowlinkup
