Hi there,
Thank you so much for sharing this week’s CTWW Challenge – Good News — with us at the Healthy, Happy, Green and Natural Party! I know it will inspire many to take up the challenge in their own unique ways.
I was very inspired by Reduce Footprints’ recent post on Water Quality. Clearly, safe, clean drinking water is not a given, even in a modern metropolis. My “good news” is that after months of searching and comparing water filtration options for my home, I finally decided upon a safer, healthier, more environmentally-friendly water filtration system and I have written a blog post about the challenges, my journey, and the benefits in this new blog post:
“Drink to Your Health: 13 Reasons Why I Love My Berkey Water Filtration System”

Hi Marla,
Doing the laundry is such an important part of our housekeeping routines. It is so alarming to learn that fabric softeners are silently poisoning our bodies and causing harm to our environment. Of course, I am not really surprised at this revelation because other laundry and cleaning products contain toxic chemicals as well. It is just so unfortunate! Knowledge is power so thank you for revealing the hazards of commercial fabric softeners and for providing safe, natural, DIY fabric softener recipes at the Healthy, Happy, Green and Natural Party Blog Hop! We will benefit from this!

Hi Brittany,
I remember as a child watching my mother remove her makeup with oil-based cleaning creams. It was her nightly cleansing ritual and I followed in her footsteps with pleasure. Of course in those days she used brands like Ponds, Vaseline and Noxema the contents of which I was not aware. However, as an informed adult consumer of natural, organic beauty care products I use coconut oil, avocado oil or almond oil to cleanse and moisturize. I like your idea of adding Frankincense. I must try that. I am so delighted that you shared this natural oil cleansing ritural with us at the Healthy, Happy, Green and Natural Party Blog Hop! We appreciate it!

I too enjoy a nice glass of red wine occasionally and especially when socializing with friends. I have grown leary of often misleading “expert research findings” that tout the health benefits of all kinds of supplements, foods and beverages so I am not very surprised by this revelation. I will continue to drink red wine occasionally in moderation but I had a feeling those findings were too good to be true. Thank you for sharing these important findings with us at the Healthy, Happy, Green and Natural Party Blog Hop! Knowledge is power.

Hi Janine,
After watching those amazing couponing “super star” shows on TV and marveling at the savings these couponers garnered for their families, I was tempted for a few moments, but I am not cut out for the hours of prep, organization, store hopping and shopping required to optimize this system. Plus, as you discovered, I don’t want to eat processed foods or use lots of body care or cleaning products with harmful, often toxic, ingredients. Why should I fill my pantry–or as some couponers do–a whole storage room with unhealthy products even if they are free. My family’s health is worth much more than that so thank you so much for sharing this revealing post with us at the Healthy, Happy, Green and Natural Party Blog Hop! We appreciate it!
